  please find enclosed my check for $109.50.

  while i am paying this bill, i believe that this charge is incredibly excessive.

  $93.50 of this bill is for a uroflowmetry, complex test.

  I've gotten burned a couple of times by my medical provider. Not on procedures though. The worst case was when a physical therapist "through in" a pair of gel insoles. My insurance wouldn't pay for them so I got the bill. The cost was $50 or $75. I could have gotten the same thing at Walgreens for $10.

  Another cause of irritation concerns my prescriptions. I'll call in the order to my pharmacy and invariably the pharmacy calls back to say the prescription needs Dr. authorization. Then I wait a few days and call the pharmacy to see what the delay is and the pharmacy says the authorization hasn't been given so I then call the Dr's office to see what the delay is and usually a couple of days later the authorization comes through. Last week it happened again. When I called the Dr's office I told them that if they could not provide me better service I would have to fire them and take by business elsewhere. A half hour later the pharmacy called to say my scripts were ready for pickup. And its not like my drugs are OxyContin or morphine. Just thyroid and diabetes drugs.

  Not allowed to sleep over - is that weird?

  okay, so my guy and i have been together for 10 months and we usually are ok together.

  but there is something that has been getting to me and i think its unusual, but please correct me if i'm wrong - he won't let me sleep over at his house.

  and he hardly ever stays at my house, he's maybe stayed here 3 times in our whole relationship.

  If this is bothering you now, keep in mind that usually it only gets worse.

  This guy has a child, an ex-wife, and what sounds like emotional problems? Sounds like lots of baggage. Do you have a similar amount of baggage? Do you really want to carry some of his? Like the saying goes, "There's lots of fish in the sea." Life's too short to deal with someone else's issues.

  Thanks connaughty and welcome to the board. How long were you on strike? Did management cave or did the union cave? Or did you end up jobless? I thought our negotiations were going pretty well. We were on board the administration's desires regarding health insurance and wages when - BAM - the administration wanted to get rid of seniority and scrap the lay off/recall language. We'd basically become at will labor. The union would be busted.

  The brothers do not look kindly at you joining a picket line as well.

  Walking a picket wouldn't make the top 10 list of things I do now that "brothers" would frown on.

  Yes, they are. They are really strong in this part of Minnesota. You know the area, Sassy. It will be an interesting next couple of months around here politics wise. I don't think a union busting mayor will go over well with the labor temple folk.

  My employer, the city, and my union are really going at it. The mayor, who won his election with a lot of help from my union and labor in general, is bound and determined to essentially break us. My union is AFSCME. The mayor is saying negotiations are at an impass and he will impose his terms on the bargaining unit. We are saying impose your contract and we will walk. The mayor is up for re-election this year. He has irritated a lot of people in the city so I really don't think he will get past the primary much less win the general. But one never knows. Anyway, the mayor is such a freaking hot head, if he doesn't get past the primary I wouldn't be surprised if he imposed the contract just for spite. I could probably go for months if not over a year without working a lick and if I did go to work I could ride a strike indefinetly. Maybe a strike would make me decide to sell out and move on to somewhere else.

  So, has anyone walked a picket? What was the outcome? From what I have read it seems like neither side really wins during a strike and the economic losses can take years to recover for both sides.

  one of the things i enjoy most about wifi is the way i can sit in my favorite living room recliner and surf the web while watching spongbob.

  i was just sitting here browsing around the web when it suddenly occurred to me: am i microwaving my "boys"?

  has anyone heard if there is are, ahem, "manly" dangers to using a laptop on the lap?

  I just walked 4.6km and I feel great.

  i am extremely overweight (280lbs.

  several friends suggested walking.

  we have a 'rail trail' near the house here that goes all the way to two towns over, about 30km long.

  I walk a lot. Two miles in the morning and another 2 after work. I started walking when I found out I have diabetes. Someone suggested that I follow the 10,000 step a day program (about 5 miles). I did some reading and went out and bought a pedometer. That many steps a day seems impossible at first, but if you stick to it you'll be surprised at how quickly that goal can be reached.   it said if i read through it and re-posted the message my phone would ring within 5 minutes and a wish would come true within minutes equal to my age (30 yo = 30 min).

If I didn't send it on I would have bad luck for years. Although highly skeptical of this kind of thing I went ahead and copied it and reposted as instructed. I did that at 5:11 pm. My phone rang at 5:16 pm. It wasn't a really important call, but it was an interesting coincidence...or demons. Liz Hurley didn't show up within 44 minutes so I guess that part of the deal was totally bogus.

  for those with strong political views, is it impossible to be really good friends with someone on the other side?

  my very best friends either tend to think like me on the political continuum or have no care whatsoever for politics.

  those with exceptionally strong leaning toward the other party tend to get mean and nasty in political discussions which invariably deteriorate hopes for a deeper friendship.. what has been your experience?.
